WELCOME TO YEAR 4
We are delighted to welcome you and your child to Year 4! This year will be filled with exciting opportunities to explore, question, investigate and learn together through engaging, real-life experiences.
Our learning this term will be centred around our inquiry question:
🌍"Can Small Actions Make a Big Difference?"
Through this inquiry, learners will explore how their everyday actions can have positive impacts on people, communities and the environment. We will investigate diversity and equality, discover how living things are connected, and learn about the importance of sustainability and looking after our world. Along the way, children will develop their critical thinking, creativity, problem-solving and teamwork skills.
Throughout the year, learners will have opportunities to work collaboratively, take on new challenges, show resilience when things are difficult and celebrate their successes together.
🧮 Maths
Our maths lessons focus on developing fluency, reasoning and problem-solving skills. Learners will be encouraged to explain their thinking and apply their mathematical knowledge in a range of contexts.
📚 Literacy
We will develop reading, writing, speaking and listening skills through high-quality texts linked to our inquiry and authentic writing opportunities.
We are looking forward to an exciting year of learning, discovery and growth!

📌 Some Important Information About Our Class
⏰ Drop off: 8:50am - 9:00am
⏰ Pick up: 3:15pm
📬 Communication: Please contact us through Class Dojo.
📖 Reading: Please encourage your child to read regularly at home.
🔤 Spellings: Spellings will be sent home weekly.
💧 Water Bottles: Children should bring a water bottle to school every day.
🏃 PE Day: Wednesday and Mrs Jones will teach our class every other Wednesday
💻 Doodle Learning: Regular use at home supports progress in maths and literacy.
