School Council 2025-26
Wow! School Council have hit the ground running this term. We have been so busy and we have so many plans.
We started the year by welcoming all of our new representatives and we got to know each other a little better.
Harvest Festival
We asked our class mates to bring in different items that we could donate to The Pantry, which will then help our friends and family. We were so impressed by all the generous donations. Reverend Canon Zoe came and let our Harvest Festival Service and we enjoyed listening to her tell us about the importance of yeast and how we are like yeast. We may only be one person, but we can all make a huge difference.
School Council would like to thank everyone for their kind donations and Canon Reverend Zoe for leading our celebration.
Children In Need
We are busy working on some exciting plans to raise money for Children in Need.
Collaborative Art
Our school value this half term is collaboration, and so School Council wanted to celebrate this value. They have asked every member of the school team to colour in a lollipop stick, which they will arrange to make a beautiful piece of art. The artwork will show that everybody in our school is part of the same team, and that by working together we accomplish amazing things. Watch this space!
Safer Internet Day
We lead an assembly to remind our peers about using AI safely. We told them that whilst AI is amazing, it is important that we check what it tells us and that we don't become too reliant on it.
Comic Relief
We have been busy raising money for Comic Relief; we sold red noses and held a cake sale. The cakes were very popular and we had to decorate more! Bob the Attendance Dog was in Year Three, and he wanted to help to decorate them too. He is very cheeky!
We held an assembly telling everyone about the work that Comic Relief does. We had a just for fun quiz at the end.
Did you know what the World Record is for the longest laugh?
An amazing 3 hours and 6 minutes!
We raised £240 selling Red Noses and an extra £103.50 selling cakes, so a total of £343.50!
Thank you to everyone for taking part.
2024-2025
At Jenner Park Primary School we have two representatives from each year group. Each member was elected by their peers after delivering an election speech. The representatives meet once a week to discuss ideas and projects. The meetings also enable the Council to talk about issues and ideas that their peers have approached them with during the week.
