Welcome to Year 6!

We are excited to welcome you and your child to Year 6, the final year at the top of our school! It’s an exciting time filled with new challenges, exciting opportunities, and plenty of achievements to celebrate.

throughout the year, the children will enjoy a range of exciting trips and experiences to enhance their learning. These include residential trips to Abernant and Treginnis farm which promise to create lasting memories and deepen their understanding of key topics.

Technology plays a significant role in our curriculum. In Year 6, we use a variety of digital tools to support learning, encourage creativity, and prepare children for the modern world. You can also support your child’s progress at home through platforms such as Doodle Learning, where they can practice key skills in a fun and interactive way.

'With great power comes great responsibility'

Being in Year 6 comes with extra responsibilities and privileges. This is the year where our House and Vice Captains are chosen, giving children the chance to develop their leadership skills and act as role models for the rest of the school.

To strengthen their skills, children will bring home weekly spelling lists to practice and will take part in Big Maths which help improve mental arithmetic and problem-solving skills. Your encouragement at home plays a vital role in helping them succeed.

We’re looking forward to a fantastic year ahead, filled with growth, achievements, and wonderful memories. Let’s work together to make Year 6 an unforgettable experience for all!
