🤩WELCOME TO DOSBARTH DWYNWEN (YEAR 5)🤩
Welcome to Year 5!
We’re thrilled to welcome you and your child to Year 5, an exciting year where creativity, and discovery take centre stage.
In Year 5, we embrace inquiry-based learning, encouraging children to ask questions, explore ideas, and develop a deeper understanding of the world around them. This approach helps build critical thinking skills and a love for learning that will serve them for years to come.
A highlight of the year is our visits to Slade Farm, where children experience the changing seasons first-hand and learn about the environment and sustainability. These visits bring learning to life and provide a wonderful opportunity for hands-on exploration and reflection.
Our approach to maths follows the Maths No Problem program, which focuses on problem-solving, mastery, and developing a deep understanding of mathematical concepts. This ensures all children are challenged and supported to achieve their best.

You can also play a vital role in supporting your child’s learning at home. Platforms like Doodle Learning are a fantastic resource to reinforce classroom learning in a fun and engaging way.
We are looking forward to a wonderful year of growth and exploration in Year 5. Together, we can ensure your child has a rewarding and memorable year!

Some important bits of information about our class:
- Drop off between 8:50-9am.
- Conract/Messages though Class Dojo.
- Pick up at 3:15pm from the door next to the office.
- Children need water bottles every day.
- PE every Wednesday with Mrs Jones - children wear their house colour t shirt and will change into this in school.
