Museum of Us

We learnt about the history behind our class name 'Mari Lwyd' and made our own model for our classroom.

Autumn Term

Our Central Idea: Cynefin is the relationship between people and the natural world, and how our connection to our surroundings can shape our sense of identity and well-being.

We are learning all about how our local area used to be, how it is now, and how we can look after it and improve it for our future.

We went for a local walk to see how different buildings have changed over time.

We went to our local library and local allotment.  We used some of the fruit and vegetables from the allotment to make some delicious food in class.

We've been talking about local heroes.  We were very lucky to have a visit from Hamdan's mum, who is a nurse, and to learn about her important job in our community.

We read 'Maybe Something Beautiful' and learnt about how art can transform a community.  Inspired by this, we invited Rhiannon Roberts to help us create our very own mural for our school.

We visited Porthkerry Park to learn about how they are rewilding the golf course to make it better for wildlife.

Spring Term

We are learning about how animals, plants and humans survive and how we are all interconnected. We are learning about ways we can work together to protect our planet. We had a visit from Dave, the animal man, to meet some different creatures to start our inquiry.

We looked at microhabitats and explored our garden area to find invertebrates in their homes.
