Welcome to Year 1
In Year 1, we focus on developing key skills across a broad range of subjects, including: Building a strong foundation in reading and writing through phonics, storytelling, and early writing skills. Exploring numbers, shapes, patterns and problem-solving in fun, engaging ways. Encouraging curiosity about the natural world through hands-on investigations. We explore topics about the past and the world around them, fostering an early sense of connection and discovery.

We place a strong emphasis on personal, social, and emotional well-being. Year 1 is a time when children grow in confidence and independence. Our Year 1 classroom is a lively hub of activity where play and learning go hand in hand, and every child is celebrated for their unique talents and progress. We look forward a joyful and successful year for all!

Some important bits of information about our class:
- Drop off between 8:50am-9am and pick up at 3:10pm from the door on the side of our classroom.
- Contact/Messages through Class Dojo.
- Children need labelled water bottles every day.
- PE every other Tuesday with Mrs Jones - children wear PE clothes to school.
