🙂WELCOME TO DOSBARTH GLYNDWR (YEAR 3)🙂
Welcome to Year 3!
We’re delighted to welcome you and your child to Year 3, an exciting milestone as they transition from the Infant building to the Junior one. This year is all about building independence, confidence and a love for learning as they settle into the next phase of their school journey.
In Year 3, we place a strong emphasis on reading and handwriting, as these skills are the foundation for so much of your child’s learning. Every day, your child will bring home a book, to share and enjoy reading with you at home. Regular practice makes a huge difference, so your involvement is invaluable.
"A book is a gift you can open again and again."
You can also support your child’s learning through platforms like Doodle Learning, which are designed to reinforce key skills in a fun and interactive way.
We look forward to working together to help your child thrive and grow in this important year.

Some important bits of information about our class:
Spring 2025
We have been so busy this year already! We are currently thinking about "How Our World Would be Affected if it Never Rained Again?" We have looked at rivers in Wales and around the world, the role of water in World religions, the water cycle, states of matter and created pieces of art with water colour paints. We have been working hard with our new Maths scheme; Maths No Problem and love to tackle the Explore task to answer questions on place value, addition and subtraction. We have particularly enjoyed our writing tasks especially our story settings.
TECHNIQUEST
We had an amazing day in Techniquest. We thoroughly enjoyed exploring all the exhibits especially the wind tunnel, the water tables and of course, the slide! The science lab was brilliant, we enjoyed filtering dirty water, finding the DNA of seaweed, looking at the water cycle and mixing acids and alkali.
